As we enter 2024, things in the Formula One paddock have already been shaken up.
Guenther Steiner, now former Haas Team Principal, hasn’t had his contract renewed for the 2024 season.
In an official statement, Gene Haas, Team owner of Haas F1 Team, extended his thanks to Steiner for all of his hard work and wished him well for the future.
He said that: “Moving forward as an organisation it was clear we need to improve our on-track performances.”
During an interview with Sky Sports commentator, David Croft (aka Crofty), Guenther felt that he hadn’t been given the chance to thank the team members when he left the F1 team.
As a result of this, he took time out of the interview to thank the people he wanted to, during his appearance at the Autosport International event.
He then moved on to say that: “receiving the phone call was a bit of a surprise but he (Gene Haas) owns the team and it’s his decision.”
Steiner has become a popular character within the paddock over the past ten years and many members of the Formula One community have expressed how much he will be missed.
